What is collected

If you fill in the enquiry form, whatever you put in it. That means your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, your property or company, where you are, and details about the space. If you attach photographs, those too.

The site also records which page you arrived from and what browser you used, which helps me know whether the site is working.

Nothing is stored on your device. There are no tracking cookies and no analytics cookies, which is why you are not being asked to accept anything.

Why

To reply to you, and to keep track of the conversation afterwards. A project for a property can take months, and without a record of who asked what, enquiries get forgotten.

The legal basis is legitimate interest: you contacted me about work, and I need your details to respond.

Where it goes

Enquiries are stored in a database hosted by Neon in London. Email is sent through Resend, which means your name and message pass through their systems in order to reach me. Photographs are stored by Vercel in the United States. The site itself is hosted by Vercel.

Those four companies process this data on my behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything else.

How long

Enquiries that turn into work are kept for six years after the work is finished, because tax records require it. Enquiries that go nowhere are deleted after two years.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email info@samuelpaints.com and I will do it within a month, usually the same week.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes with it.
